Fresh off a win over the Seattle Kraken, the NHL-leading Colorado Avalanche look to extend their streak as the Winnipeg Jets visit Ball Arena hoping to cool off the red-hot Central Division leaders

The Avalanche are on a three game win streak, while the Jets are still looking to find their game after getting Connor Hellebuyck back.

Avalanche set for another big divisional matchup with the Jets.

Jess Shelton of Mile High Hockey reported on the game preview between the Avalanche and the Jets.
The Avalanche enter the matchup as the NHL's top team, with Nathan MacKinnon leading the league in points and Cale Makar pacing all defensemen.
"Colorado comes into this game after a hard-fought win against the Seattle Kraken, in which the Avs had to overcome two different one-goal deficits to win that game. Despite their power play failing to convert much of the game, ultimately it was Brock Nelson on the man advantage that scored the game-winning goal for the Avs in the third period." -Shelton

Winnipeg struggled mightily without Connor Hellebuyck, recording the NHL's worst mark in November. With their star goaltender back, the Jets are now looking to turn things around and make a second-half playoff push.
"It's not exactly a secret that the Jets have been struggling mightily through this point in the season, and that's mostly been because of Hellebuyck having missed a fair bit of time this season with injury. Not to say that this Winnipeg team is just not competitive without him, but he's arguably the most important player, which is why getting him back was so important for the Jets." -Shelton

This is the first of four meetings between the Avalanche and Jets this season, setting the stage for potential bad blood as the two teams see plenty of each other in a short span. Tonight's matchup will offer an early glimpse at who lands the first blow in the season series.
