The Minnesota Wild and Kirill Kaprizov played against their Central Division the Colorado Avalanche headlined by Nathan MacKinnon, Kaprizov scored two goals in the game and is building his reputation as the thorn in the Avalanche's side.

The Avalanche rolled into Minnesota as the best team in the NHL, but Kaprizov's efforts were enough to take down the giant.

Kaprizov plagues the Colorado Avalanche once again.

Tony Abbott of Hockey Wilderness reports on the extra levels Kaprizov rises when playing the Avalanche. While MacKinnon also has a similar performance when playing the Wild, few teams have done it back to the Avalanche.
"It's far from the first game Kaprizov has terrorized the Avalanche. Friday was his 13th and 14th career goals against Colorado, making the Avs the team he's scored the most goals against during his career. It's the most that anyone has scored against the Avalanche since Kaprizov entered the league. It's not even close."-Abbott

Kaprizov recently signed a record breaking contract this year worth $17M AAV, and he's proving his worth. And it's not just the Avalanche, but it's actually against all the top teams in the league. Many great players are often criticized for stat padding against poor teams, and disappearing in the big moments. But Kaprizov is almost the opposite of that claim, he shows up when it matters most.
"We're talking about a 46-goal, 91-point pace against these teams. You'd say that bodes well for Kaprizov in the playoffs, except, well, that Kaprizov's been about as dangerous a goal-scorer in the playoffs as anyone. He's had boom-or-bust series in the postseason, but there's no denying the overall picture, either."-Abbott

Kaprizov is one of the most dynamic and dangerous players in the league. What makes him even scarier is he gets better, the better his competition. It won't be an easy feat for the Avalanche if they end up facing the Wild in the playoffs.
