The Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild delivered an epic Central Division showdown last night, with Kirill Kaprizov and Jesper Wallstedt leading the Wild to a 3-2 shootout win over Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche.

The Avalanche have still only one regulation loss all season, and have gone the whole month of November with at least a point in every game.

Wild edge Avalanche in thrilling shootout showdown.

Mariah Stark of The Hockey Writers covered the game recap between the division rivals.
Kaprizov and Wallstedt stole the show, with Kaprizov scoring twice and Wallstedt stopping 39 shots in the win.
"While Kaprizov was doing his part in scoring, Wallstedt did his job in the net. By now, everyone knows how strong a goaltender he is, but he truly found another level. He made stops against Cale Makar, Martin Necas, Gabriel Landeskog, and Nathan MacKinnon, who has 41 points in 24 games played. He's earned his nickname 'The Wall of St. Paul', and he continues to get better and more aggressive." -Stark

MacKinnon led the Avalanche with a goal and an assist on the tying goal that sent the game to overtime. He stays the league's top scorer with 41 points, five ahead of Macklin Celebrini, and leads in goals with 19, one ahead of Morgan Geekie. The Wild made a statement with the win, extending their streak to seven, against the NHL's best team, no less.
Here's what Wild star Matt Boldy had to say after his team's thrilling win.
"Yeah, these games are fun. They're the best team in the NHL right now. So it's a test, I mean, you're going to get them throughout the year, you're going to play a lot of really good teams, them being one. We play them a handful of times, so for us to come out and just kind of step up to the plate, I guess, and be ready to go and find a way to win is huge" -Boldy

The Avalanche now shift focus to the Montreal Canadiens for a quick Saturday afternoon clash. With their young, dynamic roster, the Canadiens will pose another tough test less than 24 hours after Colorado's shootout loss.
