Spittin' Chiclets, the world's most popular hockey podcast created by Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette, recently broke down just how dominant the Colorado Avalanche have been over the rest of the NHL this season.

Whitney was discussing with new podcast member Keith Yandle, that this team is starting to look like a legitimate threat to break the regular-season points record.

Former NHLer's have nothing but praise for the Colorado Avalanche's incredible start.

Sean McKenna of Mile High Sticking reported on the recent conversation between Whitney and Yandle.
Whitney said the Avalanche aren't just the most entertaining team in the NHL, they're making their opponents look like AHL squads.
"Notable podcast Spittin' Chiclets compared the team to the recent Boston Bruins squad that set a record for points in a season, heaping high praise on all assets of the team from Colorado. Ryan Whitney, Chiclets host and veteran of 481 NHL games, spoke glowingly of the Avalanche, specifically MacKinnon, Makar and Necas." -McKenna

The hosts drew parallels between Colorado's start and the record-setting Bruins team from two years ago, praising everything from their depth to their star power.
"They're looking like that Bruins team that broke the record for points."

The Colorado Avalanche are in a league of their own this year and DRUMMING teams along the way.
And while Whitney highlighted MacKinnon, Makar, and Necas, the Avalanche's success has truly been a full-team effort.
The goaltending has been just as impressive, Scott Wedgewood's steady play and Mackenzie Blackwood's resurgence, capped by back-to-back shutouts, have turned Colorado into more than an offensive powerhouse.
They're a defensive force as well, smothering opponents at both ends of the ice.
"With a goaltending tandem like this, it's the envy of the league, and it's no wonder the team has won ten straight games. Goaltending is the backbone of success in the NHL. It's also imperative to have when penalty killing." -McKenna

With no signs of slowing down, the Avalanche's dominance is thrilling for fans, but downright intimidating for the rest of the NHL.
